let's................

let's take a sip,
let's take tht dip...

let's take a sip,
let's take tht dip.
into the river,
flowing with dead thoughts....

let's fly!!

fly higher in the sky.
higher and higher..
as high as u can..
my frnd!!

let's raise our head,
to poison,
my frnd..

my eyes have opened,
but the dreams are still sleeping..

the candle is burning,
in a room full of lights..

imagination has been deprived,
of it's content..
reality has been absorbed,
in one's palatability..

let's take a sip,
let's take tht dip.....

[i dn' remember quite well, but it has been long since i wrote this one...i was readin my book,n when i was jst flippin through the last pages which had quotations on it,i came across this poem...n can barely remember when i had written this one..]

all thnks to my book.."point counter point",by huxley...

sure, the title is quite coincidental...but, to an extent..

Hmmm interestingly Philip quarles and walter bidlake were supposed projection of huxley at different ages! I liked philip's character a lot myself especially the "I prefer to be left alone with my own thoughts and desires" kinda attitude which i somehow related to... And of course you cant refuse reflections of yourself, its a crime ;)

of it's content..
reality has been absorbed,

awrite, sorry fer the irreverence. dipping into life and drinking it to the lees are estimable themes- and no less estimable things to do!

"the candle is burning,
in a room full of lights"
... another wasted life? ... not really ... the candle doesn't know that it is one of the many who lit up the room ...it adds to the light ... (my take on these lines ... )

.... a really lovely piece ... :)

ANUP..
have u heard of tht extract from the play "merchant of venice", by Shakespeare:-

"that light we see, is burning in my hall,
how far tht little candle throws his beams!
so shines a good deed in a naughty world."

"so doth the greater glory dim the less,
a substitute shines brightly as a king."

and thus, my frnd, i wrote those lines..
"candle burning in a romm full of lights"..

but,i'm glad u shared ur view point...

stay in touch

CHERUBIC_CHIPMUNK..
well, thnk u so much for those kind words, but u know wat..autograph is one way of making me feel embarassed in my own eyes..
cos i'm stupidly shy...and end up not givin any..
hhahahaha

who can forget those lines of profundity which were given life to by de very embodiment of virtues,de 1 n only Portia...but it'd hav been clearer if u'd said wat Nerissa said aftr dis,
"that light we see, is burning in my hall,
how far tht little candle throws his beams!
so shines a good deed in a naughty world."

"wen de moon shone,v did not c de candle"

and aftr dis,
"so doth the greater glory dim the less,
a substitute shines brightly as a king."

"until a king b by,and then in his state empties itself,as doth an inland brook
into de main of waters"

fogive me for that but i'm kinda paranoiac abt dis whole play...and btw,did u happen to b in an ICSE school in tenth standard?jus curious...

CHERUBIC_CHIPMUNK..
hahahhaha

i know about Nerissa's lines...but i thought of cutting it short,so tht the other person dsn't get pissed...cos everyone may not be as passioante about plays as we r..
lol

my favorite is the mercy extract...it's so very true, but who will take notice in a world full of wickedness and human torture and atrocities...nobody has mercy for anyone, even if it "droppeth as the rain"...

i'm from the ICSE stream too..
